Here is a step by step tutorial to setup tradingview in purpose to obtain the following chart
You will first see a resume of 30 steps, then a more detailed and pictured one
1) Click on Chart
2) Click on the top left icon
3) Click on dark color theme
4) Click on the top right icon in purpose to reduce the watchlist and details
5) Click on the bar research where is written by default CAC40
6) Click on the pop-up bar research and write XBTUSD, which is the BTC pair of Bitmex
7) Click on the first link XBTUSD from Bitmex
8) Click on « D » to change the timeframe from Daily to 1H , which is Hourly
9) If you have the free version of tradingview, you are only allowed tohave 3 scripts , so you have to remove volume
10) Click on « Fx » Icon
11) On the Pop-up, click on Invite-only scripts
12) Click on Dyortool Premium, Oscillator, Dashboard
13) Click on the three little dots for Dyortool Oscillator
14) Click on Move To
15) Click on New Pane Below
16) Rightclick on Dyortool Premium
17) Desactivate « Show OHLC Values »
18) Desactivate « Show Indicator Arguments »
19) Desactivate « Show Indicator Values »
20) Rightclick on the spot 20
21) Click on Strategy Properties
22) Put 2 if you are watching BTC, 14 otherwise
23) Click on Properties
24) By default for tradingview’s backtest, i’ve put 1000$ as initial capital, 0,04%commission, which is the comission of Binance per trade without any reduction. And to not mislead user i have set 0,4 leverage per trade ( 40 % of equity order size per trade) because in trading gains can be exponential very fast. Change these settings as you like.
25 ) A little reminder : I have tradingview premium which allows me to have a lot more candle than you for the backtest and this gives me a better sample for the backtesting of the strategy. If you don’t see a nice ROE in % in the (25), you can ask me anytime to try this for you with tradingview premium by giving me the following message :
« Hello , I don’t have tradingview premium and I would like to see the backtest for XXX in timeframe XXX , i have set by default initial capital to XXX , Order size to XXX, Commission to XXX »
26) Click on DyorTool Dashboard settings
27) Click on « Display candle and Wicks color »
28) Change « Table cell height » to 4 or 5 if you have a small screen
29) Click on the 3 little dots of DyorTool Dashboard, then Visual Order then Bring Forward
30) Click on the 3 little dots of the title name, then visual order , then send to back. This would do a better coloring of wicks and body candle
